Are you going to attend, @tonlee?
Rather I should say, did you attend @tonlee?
No. I have watched a number of videos from the event.
What did you like about this one in particular?
> this one in particular?
Are you referring to the fosdem event or the video in the link?
I was referring to the video in the link, but any thoughts you would like to share from fosdem would be welcome.
The video link was partly a provocation. The relationship between the free software foundation and leah has not been easy. But I still think people should keep themselves informed about libreboot. The video itself has no extraordinary content. Fosdem has categories for instance riscv or phones. You get to watch talks on those topics. If you use a piece of free software, sometimes at fosdem people behind the software give talks. And then there are talks on matters you have not thought about.
And yet no one was provoked.
Maybe there are no evil monsters here, no anti-FSF boogeymen. Just a bunch of people that are each trying to do the best they can with extremely limited choices in a technology environment that is terribly hostile to software freedom AND to privacy AND to security.
Leah said that the attempt to re-create a blob-free libreboot, and call it libreboot, was an attempt to take over Leah's project. I viewed it as an attempt to make a blob-free version like there was one before, and that using the same name was just a silly idea.
Ironic, I actually thumbed him up for once and he got a minus.
But yeah, I am curious if he did go as well Andy
