Can we please not have people thumbing down comments of people based on hating the person and more on actual reasons? My comments are very often thumbed down whether they are against the rules or not. Also, a certain individual recently tried to arrogantly tell me to leave the forum.
I must say, it takes a lot of arrogance to think you own the forum and that you are its police when in reality you are just an ordinary user with no real power.
I begin to wonder if the power to thumb down should no longer be anonymous since people abuse it on people they hate.
The hate on this forum sometimes seems overwhelming.
And PS, if you are the one I spoke of, above, don't bother trying to intimidate me, I won't fold to arrogant people.
It seems you have some trolling you, a fan club so to speak. As you pointed out in one thread, they are not a very helpful bunch.
Ain't that the truth...
But fan club is the wrong phrase. That would imply they like me. Its quite the opposite.
I guess I have a hate club trolling me.
It might be that pointing to crowdsupply in general would be a recommendation of non-free software since a lot of I don't know if you have noticed is non-free. There are hardware for specifically made as Windows computers for instance. If you could point a device there that is free and doesn't recommend non-free software I am sure that would be more appreciated.
There was another occasion I noticed you replied to someone which had nothing to do with their comment, but meant for somewhere else I thought. I didn't down vote you, but noticed there were like a bunch of down votes. Majority of times I downvoted someone I came out about it.
I think transparency would be a good idea.
I don't get that, github is also non-free and has a lot of free software projects on it. Very strange...
That wasn't my intention to recommend non-free software when it came to crowdsupply. I didn't even ponder that could be considered for such a thing. I thought it was mostly libre projects on it.
I don't even know where to begin on this I guess.
Yeah transparency would be good, otherwise it just feels like people are hating on me for the sake of it.
I don't feel like I was commenting in ways that had nothing to do with the comments made either. Although I suppose if other people go off topic and I do too, that's a problem.
Though they didn't get downvoted and I did... so... ironic it is.
I guess I was wrong. I was thinking of some projects that I can't point specifically that required Windows. There was the MNT Reform projects and the project leader seemed to consider our needs less necessary.
Maybe MNT Reform devs would fit that bill. That is very possible
Although, with LS1028A it can be used with only libre software.
So there is that
RK3588 though is not there yet.
You also have been arrogant several times. My suggestion would be to try helping people or share your experience rather than your mood. Also, not to put a blank line between every sentence, this makes you hard to read.
Wasn't my intention to be arrogant, my bad.
Btw, i put blank lines to make it easier to read, not harder. I don't really get how that even makes sense.
Sometimes I do genuinely try to help people though. I don't think it is counted though because people are used to hating on me. I could be wrong though.
I was conversing on a thread next door to this one and you, Zoma, decided to join using the reply button to add your comment ahead of mine. Why do that? Why not just add your comment? That strikes me as rude and, yes, arrogant.
There are some members here that have so much respect for their brilliant helpfulness that if they were to do that I just have to step back and watch and maybe learn. But this is not that.
Not sure what you mean?
Can you tell me which thread you mean
EDIT: do you mean this one?
What in particular did I do that was wrong? I am not sure what you mean.
Yes that link.
You should have just joined the conversation like I am doing now. Just enter your comment in the box at the bottom, preview if you want and save when your satisfied. Then your comment is posted below the last saved comment on the thread (in chronological order). What you did was click on the reply link in his last comment, thereby jumping over my last post. That makes one feel ignored. Probably was not your intention to insult or be rude but I thought I would bring it up.
In it, you say "Feel free to fill me in." If you read my post made 1 hour earlier, I have already asked specific questions. Again, making one feel ignored. Kinda hurt my delicate feelings.
I know there are threads that get a lot of activity and go off in different directions so replying to a particular comment would be appropriate. I am not the Trisquel.info/forum police so no big deal. I won't start down voting you yet. :)
I wasn't intending to offend you and I didn't realize you already asked the same question.
I don't always understand social norm or netiquette.
I am on the spectrum, maybe that's why? I don't know for sure.
I definitely wasn't tracking what you were talking about till you responded.
Still am not sure completely what the problem is with me responding to a comment after yours.
Its puzzling to say the least.
The reply feature in the forum is neat at the same strange to me. It helps to keep conversations on topic and that subtopics can be created with "Post new comment" box.
Thanks, I didn't think of it that way and 'neat and strange' sounds right. Then you get people 'replying' to a reply, too. I might look for guidelines on how to use that feature.
> It helps to keep conversations on topic and that subtopics can be created with "Post new comment" box. That does make sense.
