is there a stable trisquel image for the rockpro64?
If so is freedombox in the trisquel repositories? Thank you.
Maybe Avron can answer, given https://trisquel.info/forum/trisquel-rockpro64
FreedomBox is in Trisquel's repository.
I tried using the trisquel 12 arm64 netinstaller on a rockpro64, using a serial connection to interact with the computer. The installer started but at the step of detecting ethernet, it failed to detect it, so I could not install trisquel. I am not aware of any other image to install trisquel 12 on a rockpro64.
Less than 7 days ago, I tried installing trisquel 12 on an olinuxino lime2 using debootstrap according to instructions and advice on this forum, but so far no success. If that would work, the same method could be applied with the rockpro64. In my attempts, on the serial console, I see messages from u-boot saying that it found the kernel, the initramfs and the dtbs but after the "Starting kernel" message nothing happens anymore. Since there is no led blinking on the ethernet connector and there is a led on the board that, when booting a Debian installer, is on, but here it is off, perhaps it means the kernel does not work. The kernel I installed is linux-libre-lts, I don't know whether it is compiled properly to run on that board. Of course, I may also have made mistakes.
About freedombox: it is in trisquel repositories but many of its mechanisms are using things specific to debian that are not the same in ubuntu, I heard reports that it wasn't working properly on trisquel so I suspect it would have to be forked to adjust to trisquel. If your goal is to run freedombox, I'd suggest using debian on this board.

Can you tell where to get a free software debian rockpro64 image and instructions on how to install it?
